Getting Nicole to sleep in her own bed.

Nicole is not much into stickers so that would not work as a reward system. So I had to stretch out to find what would actually work for her. What we have found was M&M's. Our SLP has suggested making a reward poster. Staple or tape an empty M&M wrapper on the reward poster and draw on it label it _ _ reward poster. Ours says Nite Nite reward. Then along the side I put you can do it. The I started by giving her 2 M&M's the first night and told her if she stayed in her bed all night then she could have 2 more M's in the morning. Well guess what it worked. I then told her if she slept in her bed all week then Friday she would get a very special reward. Well that worked too. She was able to pick out the toy of her choice....she picked the Thomas the train book. :)

So I would say find something your child is into and reward it before they go to bed so they know they will for sure get it the next morning if they follow through and actually sleep in their bed all night long.

Monday rolls around again

This is a finger crossing Monday. I hopefully get the news tomorrow that my hours will be changed and for the better. There is a meeting tonight and hopefully it will be discussed. *fingers crossed*

We had a great weekend. Saturday we got up early and went plant shopping with daddy and gaga, and neighbor Christina! We bought a few neat plants, we are starting to make the yard pretty. Thanks to Christina, I want to this to be my new obsession. We also went to HD and got a matching bush for the front flower bed. It is a Chinese Privet. The names of the other are slipping me right now. After Art's plant sale we took the munchins to Going Bananas. This was Lauren's first time and I think she liked it. We will just have to get her there more often. My two of course had a ball. The rest of the day was spent eating at Red Robbin and toy shopping at Toys R Us for Jaxon's big birthday party coming up!!! 1 Already.....................yes were does the time go????

Sunday Daddy was off and we had our usual weekend breakfast together and then worked in the yard. I am really enjoying being outside and I know the kids are too. Hopefully by Jaxon's party we can have the front looking real nice.

Try this Tuesday

So I stumbled across this on line and thought why not give it a try.... So here is my first Try this Tuesday.

Some my know Nicole has speech issues. Not exactly sure to what level yet. But we do speech therapy 3 times a week sometimes 4.

So here is what we will try today. Get a plastic bag and pick up anything around the house that starts with the letter "P". Then go to the kitchen table and talk about all the items and what they are used for and really emphasise the sound that the "P" makes.

I will update and tell how our experience goes.
